Salary is determined after reviewing transcripts, completed college units, hours teaching, Montessori experience, and the Child Development Permit issued by the State of California (if available). Teaching Associate


Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time, Salaried
Work Hours: 8:30 AM-2:30 PM, 2:30-5:30 PM or 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday

Reporting To: Director of School

Requirements:

​

  • Observe children to determine where you can help them to grow

  • Foster independence, helping children do everything from using the bathroom to cutting fruits and vegetables independently

  • Manage nap time/ breaks, diaper changing duties, curriculum activities coordination like arts and crafts, and outdoor play

  • Ability to participate, develop Montessori materials, and curriculum planning with Lead Teacher

  • Keep the classroom and bathroom environment neat, clean, safe, and orderly

  • Collaborate and check-in with Lead Teacher for general overview and running of the class daily

  • Sub for circle time when Head Teacher is absent or commit to parent conferences during school hours

Qualifications:

​

  • A joyful disposition and passion of working with young children from ages 3-6 years old

  • Ability to interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, empathetic, confident manner

  • Willingness to learn: Growth Mindset

  • To start working immediately, you must have 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units

  • 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units are acceptable if you are enrolled in additional courses

  • Familiar with bilingual classroom and foster diverse cultures to students

  • Proficient with computer software and programs (Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, Google Share Drive, Google Docs./ Calendar)

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree or above

  • Provide approved fingerprinting/child background check, be able to pass health screening and TB

  • Preferably ability to fluently speak and write in Chinese - Mandarin, but not required

  • Obtain and keep current pediatric first aid and CPR training
