Administrative Associate


Job Type: Part-Time, Salaried
Work Hours: 9:00 AM-1:00 PM, Monday-Friday

Reporting To: Director of School

Requirements:

  • Developing positive relationships with parents, children, and families

  • Welcome prospective new students and parents and conducting tours

  • Processing new enrollment applications

  • Supervise and provide resources to staff to work effectively with children

  • Coordinate curriculum, review class lesson plans and program planning

  • Planning and coordination of school events & field trips

  • Attend training with the staff and coordination of training for the staff

  • Record keeping including maintaining children's files, immunizations, and class schedules

 

Qualifications:

  • Assistant in a Montessori center licensed for 2 years with more than 12 students (Preferred)

  • Experience working with mixed age group children (18 months to 6 years old)

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Ability to multi-task and project management (preferred)

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills

  • Excellent event planning and staff organizational skills

  • Proficient with computer software and programs (Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, Google Share Drive, Google Docs./ Calendar)

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree or above

  • Provide approved fingerprinting/child background check, be able to pass health screening and TB

  • Obtain and keep current pediatric first aid and CPR training

Lead Teacher

Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried
Work Hours: 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday

Reporting To: Director of School

 

Requirements:

 

  • Design, prepare preschool class objectives, and outline for course of study according to school curriculum guidelines or the requirements of state every quarterly

  • Instruct children in activities designed to promote their social, physical and intellectual development within Montessori prepared environment

  • Strong classroom and facilitation management skills to foster positive learning environment for young children from ages 2-5 years old

  • Plan individual and group activities to stimulate growth in dual-language, social and emotional skills

  • Evaluate, discuss students' academic, behavioral attitudes, achievements and progress with parents

  • Plan and organize Parent/Teacher Conferences every bi-annually

  • Set-up indoor classroom and outdoor garden materials for curriculum

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development or a related field

  • Familiar with bilingual classroom and foster diverse cultures to students

  • 2+ years of experience in the job offered or as a Preschool School Teacher

  • Strong reading and writing skills in Chinese - Mandarin (Traditional)

  • Require minimum of 24 ECE (Early Childhood Education) credit units

  • Montessori Certification (AMS or AMI preferred)

  • Proficient with computer software and programs (Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, Google Share Drive, Google Docs./ Calendar)

  • Provide approved fingerprinting/child background check, be able to pass health screening and TB

  • Ability to fluently speak and write in Chinese – Mandarin, a huge plus

  • Obtain and keep current pediatric first aid and CPR training

  • Passion in working with young children from ages 2-5 years old

  • Innovative thinker in preparing an inspirational environment for young children

 

Teaching Associate


Job Type: Part-Time, Salaried
Work Hours: 8AM-2PM or 2:00-5:30PM, Monday-Friday

Reporting To: Director of School

Requirements:

  • Observe children to determine where you can help them to grow

  • Foster independence, helping children do everything from using the bathroom to cutting fruits and vegetables independently

  • Manage nap time/ breaks, diaper changing duties, curriculum activities coordination like arts and crafts, and outdoor play

  • Ability to participate, develop Montessori materials, and curriculum planning as needed

  • Keep the classroom and bathroom environment neat, clean, safe, and orderly

  • Collaborate and check-in with Lead Teacher for general overview and running of the class daily

  • Sub for circle time when Head Teacher is absent or commit to parent conferences during school hours

Qualifications:

  • A joyful disposition and passion of working with young children from ages 2-5 years old

  • Ability to interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, empathetic, confident manner

  • Willingness to learn: Growth Mindset

  • To start working immediately, you must have 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units

  • 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units are acceptable if you are enrolled in additional courses

Cook/ Helper


Job Type: Part-Time, Salaried
Work Hours: 9AM-3PM, Monday-Friday

Reporting To: Director of School

 

Requirements:

  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the active 2-5 years old students in our care at NIMS

  • Assist and facilitate students with lunch food prep as part of the practical life curriculum

  • Daily cleaning around the kitchen, floors, and bathrooms after work

  • Applicants must be energetic, enthusiastic, dependable and caring

  • Prepare organic meals in accordance with planned menus

  • Makes any necessary menu changes or substitutions, reports and records such changes as directed

  • Prepare and serve meals that are timely, palatable and appetizing in appearance

  • Assure that floors, kitchen, and food storage areas are clean and properly arranged at all times

  • Handle food in accordance with sanitary procedures and health department standards

  • Work cooperatively with Director and other staff members

  • Comfortable cooking for staff members and 6-8 students

Qualifications:

  • A joyful disposition and passion of working with young children

  • Must be willing to participate in continuing education as required by the child care regulatory agency

  • Basic computer and math skills are helpful

  • Demonstrate the ability to order supplies and maintain inventory

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. of supplies up and down outdoor stairs

  • Must be able to be flexible with schedule with field trips and parent conference events, may work some evenings for food prep and serving guests

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

    Obtain and keep current pediatric first aid and CPR training

    Preschool Cooking/Kitchen Management for at least 2 years

  • Provide approved fingerprinting/child background check, be able to pass health screening and TB

  • Must have Food Handler’s Certificate/ Restaurant Managers Certification
